Lady Gowrie
The Gowrie acts as a Central Governing Body for our Kindy. They provide ongoing, comprehensive support to the Kindy’s Committee and distribute State government funding directly to us.
For 75 years The Gowrie’s focus has been Queensland children and families, and the benefits quality early childhood programs bring to our community.
The Gowrie believes that childhood is a unique time of life, to be valued and enjoyed in its own right. This is the time where foundations are laid for future health, learning and wellbeing.
The Gowrie values children growing up with the understandings, skills and dispositions to be caring people and effective learners, able to contribute to their world and to enjoy rich and successful relationships with others.

Nature-Based Learning
The benefit alone of being in nature is priceless; many experts have spoken about the amazing advantages that come from spending time outdoors, and have come to the conclusion that children need to be outdoors more to reap these benefits.
It is proven to strengthen the immune system, calm the nervous system and support the overall wellbeing of people in general. With such a foundation, the mind is ready to conceive all the tangible learning experiences nature has to offer.
Children thrive in their early years of school as they set new examples of leading mindfully, being inventive and creative, and include the wellbeing of all around them.
Philosophy & Mission
We believe that every child is wonderfully unique and has the right to feel safe, respected and celebrated in nurturing environments. We are a team of innovative Early Childhood professionals who highly value building and maintaining strong, respectful relationships with children and families.
Helping Your Child Explore, Grow & Learn
Dayboro Kindy seeks to nurture the whole child and as such, we believe that children benefit emotionally and physically when spending much of their time outdoors connecting with the natural world. This philosophy fosters social awareness and inclusion in our children. All children are given the opportunity to play and learn equally, together as interdependent members of our school and society.
We value the natural curiosity in children and we understand our individual roles in encouraging the child’s active participation and creativity in their own learning process. In addition, our staff is also encouraged to develop a greater level of self-awareness through professional development and personal reflection and how it impacts their performance as teachers, mentors, leaders and learners.
