Alison Vellnagel: Co-Director / Teacher – A Group
Bachelor Qualified Early Childhood Teacher
Ever since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to be a teacher and to help support children to grow towards their full potential. I am a registered primary and early childhood teacher and am a mum to five children.
I started at Dayboro Kindergarten in 2020 and have loved the opportunity of creating a positive learning environment for our kindy children that is built on caring and responsive relationships.
It is so rewarding for me to work in partnership with our families to support children’s development and skills, as together, we prepare them for school and a lifelong love of learning.
Kim Rowan: Co-Director / Teacher – B Group
Bachelor Qualified Early Childhood Teacher
I am a qualified Early Childhood Teacher with extensive experience in early childhood, including 13 years in the former preschool setting, before commencing at Dayboro Community Kindy in 2023. I have taught within a variety of educational settings and in several locations, however my passion has always been teaching in the early years. I value the importance of play based and experiential learning for young children and am extremely enthusiastic about preserving the essence of genuine early childhood programs. I live in Samford with my husband and four children, along with our menagerie of animals. I am very excited to be part of the team at Dayboro Community Kindergarten and being a part of your beautiful community.
Jodie Jensen: Educator
Diploma Qualified Educator
I have been working with pre-school aged children since 1992 and hold an Associate Diploma of Education (Child Care), and even attended Dayboro Kindy myself as a child.
Since starting at Dayboro Kindy in 2006, I have enjoyed supporting our children to develop the skills and confidence to make the transition into schooling.
I love that long enduring friendships are formed here, that we have been part of the Dayboro community since 1970 and that the sense of community is still alive and well.
Jodie Webster: Inclusion Support Educator
I began working with young children many years ago in the childcare industry as well as being employed as a private nanny. During this time I completed my Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Education and Certificate 3 in Disability Support.
I first became involved with Dayboro Kindy as a kindy parent and committee member and began occasional relief work as an assistant educator in 2023. I now work as an Inclusive Support Educator.
I am passionate about play based learning where the children can explore in a safe, secure, natural environment where they obtain the skills and confidence for the next stage in their lives.
Annette Garland: Inclusion Support Educator
When I was ready to return to work after having my children, I decided office life was no longer for me.
After completing my Cert IV in Education Support and Cert III Early Childhood, I began working at Dayboro Community Kindy as an Inclusion Support Educator.
It was then that I discovered my passion to help young children learn and grow.
I enjoy supporting children as they explore and develop new skills and love being part of their journey while at Kindy.
Cassie Button: Administration Assistant
My involvement with Dayboro Kindy started in 2023 when we moved to the area and my eldest daughter completed her kindy year here. Having already seen my three children experience the warmth of Dayboro Kindy, I am deeply committed to contributing to an exceptional learning environment for all our little learners. I have actively contributed to the growth of our kindergarten, holding the position of Vice President on the Kindy Committee in 2022. This role gave me a great understanding of our kindergarten’s management and teaching practices. I absolutely love that the children have such an amazing space to freely explore, both indoors and outdoors, encouraging their curiosity and imagination to thrive under the supervision of such caring and nurturing educators.
