From Pineapples to Play Mats: Dayboro Kindy Shines in the Community

Aug 13, 2025

At Dayboro Kindy the end of Term 2 was as busy as ever. Filled with fun, learning and plenty of community spirit. The children were thrilled to have their vibrant pineapple artwork proudly displayed at this year’s Dayboro Show, bringing a splash of colour and creativity to our community stall. A big thank you to everyone who stopped by to show their support — including local legend Farmer Steve, who paid us a special visit to admire his life-size portrait, lovingly painted by our talented little artists! Thanks to your generosity the weekend was a wonderful success, with all funds raised going directly back into our kindy program to support engaging activities, exciting incursions and rich learning resources.

The children from A Group had an exciting day attending the Dayboro State School’s Athletics Carnival, where they eagerly took part in a variety of fun and energetic activities. It was a wonderful opportunity for the kids to experience the thrill of friendly competition, develop their physical skills and cheer on their peers in a supportive environment. The event not only boosted their confidence and teamwork but also gave them a glimpse into school life, inspiring them as they prepare for their own future adventures at Dayboro State School.

Last month, we welcomed families to our annual Open Day — a wonderful opportunity to experience the heart of our award-winning early learning centre. Visitors explored our engaging indoor and outdoor play spaces, met our passionate and dedicated educators and enjoyed connecting with current kindy parents and committee members. It was a great chance to see firsthand the warm, nurturing environment that makes our kindy so special. We’re excited to announce that enrolments for 2027 to 2029 are now open!

Dayboro Community Kindy’s Cash for Cans program is a fun and sustainable way to support our little learners. Every donated can or bottle goes towards creating exciting new learning opportunities, with the children taking the lead through our Child’s Voice plan by brainstorming, voting and deciding how to spend the funds.  Thanks to the community’s generous recycling donations, A Group has now achieved their wishlist! After purchasing new small world play mats featuring everything from creepy crawlies to Antarctic adventures, A Group has passed the baton to B Group, who are now working towards the first item on their own wishlist. To help, simply drop your recyclables at Dayboro Kindy, outside the Dayboro Butcher carpark, or at Containers for Change at the Showgrounds (mention Dayboro Community Kindy).

Term 3 is now in full swing at Dayboro Kindy and the children have returned with bright smiles and boundless energy, ready to embrace new learning adventures. The familiar hum of laughter and curiosity fills the air as the children settle back into their routines, reconnect with friends and dive into play-based experiences that nurture their growth and creativity. With fresh opportunities for discovery and development ahead, it’s already shaping up to be an exciting and enriching term for everyone at Dayboro Kindy.

We’ve got some exciting events coming up that need your support! Join us for a fun-filled evening at the Lions Movie Night on Saturday 16 August – it’s the perfect family night out. Swing by our Bunnings sausage sizzle at Brendale on Saturday 27 September – every snag sold helps our kindy grow. Don’t miss our dazzling Ladies Night on Saturday 11 October – a fantastic night of fun, laughter and fundraising. Every dollar raised goes straight back to our little learners, so let’s make these events a big success!
