The first weeks of kindy focus on helping children feel safe, secure and confident in their new environment. Establishing familiar routines is an important part of this process. Daily rhythms such as arrival and departure times, group experiences, indoor and outdoor play, meals and rest times help children understand what to expect throughout the day. These predictable routines support children’s wellbeing, independence and sense of belonging as they settle into kindy life.
At Dayboro Community Kindy, we strongly believe that play is the foundation of learning. Through play, children explore ideas, build relationships, develop communication skills and make sense of the world around them. Our learning environments are carefully planned to encourage curiosity, creativity and problem-solving. Whether children are engaged in imaginative role play, constructing with blocks, creating art, or exploring our natural outdoor spaces, every experience offers rich opportunities for learning and growth.
Discovery and exploration sit at the heart of our educational program. Educators observe children’s interests and use these as a starting point to extend learning across areas such as early literacy and numeracy, social development, emotional regulation and confidence building. Learning is child-led, hands-on and joyful, allowing each child to progress at their own pace while feeling supported and valued.
Strong partnerships with families are central to our kindy community. We value open communication and collaboration, recognising families as children’s first and most important teachers. Together, we create a welcoming, inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to the City of Moreton Bay for their generous support through the Local Community Support Grant. This funding has enabled us to purchase six new chairs, which will be used for committee meetings as well as for special visitors and guests to the kindy.
We greatly appreciate this support, which helps strengthen our community connections and enhance our facilities.
As we begin the 2026 year, we look forward to a wonderful journey of learning, laughter and shared experiences. We warmly welcome our new kindy children and families to Dayboro Community Kindy and can’t wait to see all that this year will bring.
